THE ROLE: Assist in the day to day operation of the Hospitality Team, supporting the Service Centre Manager to ensure consistent and safe standards over a 7 day week. Ensure control procedures and accurate records are maintained, using the appropriate computer or manual systems. Ensure that all specified trains are supplied with a Hospitality Service. Security of stock and cash in accordance with ScotRail procedures. Cover any train that may require to be covered, as per the Operations Manager instructions. Ensure the food quality, presentation and service are provided to the standard as laid down by the EHO food hygiene regulations and ensure that all employees use safe methods of work. Clerical activities in respect of unit controls, records and wages using computer and paperwork systems in accordance with company policy and procedures. Promote good staff relations and minimise labour turnover.

THE PERSON: Experience in the hospitality business and/or supervisory roles desirable Enthusiastic and customer orientated eager to assist and provide a quality journey for the customer. Ability to plan and react to events to ensure appropriate train services are allocated a catering service.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: A Customer Service SVQ would be advantageous. Knowledge of computer systems, Operations Manual and Company Rules and Procedures, basic food hygiene regulations, cash handling and the ability to communicate effectively with other staff and customers. This role may involve the use of a portable ramp which weighs up to 15kg, the portable ramp may be required to be carried the full length of a train.

OTHER INFORMATION: Standard working hours are 36 hours per week. Shift and weekend working involved. The post will be responsible for the opening and closing of the depot on a roster basis 5 days over 7.

Reference Salary: £22,655 per annum. Trainee rate will be £19,133 per annum

Selection process: Selected candidates will be invited to complete online assessments. If successful candidates will then be invited to attend an interview. The final stage for successful candidates will be a medical questionnaire. Appointees must submit at least two satisfactory references, Disclosure Scotland clearance and complete a six month probation period. Training initially involves a five day Induction training programme including first aid and fire safety.
