To provide effective & efficient administration support within the Community Care Finance section, ensuring the correct charging for Community Care Services is implemented in accordance with Moray Council Policy & Scottish Government Legislation.Requirements
To be aware of relevant legislation relating to the charging policies/criteria as laid down by Central/Local Government to assist with the calculation of Financial Assessments for Community Care Services.
To be aware of welfare benefit entitlement and the relevant eligibility criteria in order to advise
Service Users and or their families, work colleagues of benefits/services available and the
applicable charge for services.
To advise Service Users/Representatives, fellow work colleagues and service providers of
charges for care services.
To use on a daily basis several IT systems for maintaining accurate Service User/Provider
Provide full administrative support within the team and undertake financial and administrative tasks as directed by the Administration Officer or Community Care Finance Officer.
Experience/ Training in Local Government financial systems.
Knowledge & basic understanding of welfare benefits
Experience of using a range of computer packages including Microsoft Office, Excel etc.
4 SQA Standard Grades or equivalent (at level 3 or above including English and Mathematics/Arithmetic)
Excellent keyboard skills
Effective communication skills – both oral and written.
Self confident and self motivated
Ability to record information accurately
Sound knowledge of software packages e.g. Microsoft Office
Ability to demonstrate a high standard of numeracy, organisational and administrative skills.
Ability to be compassionate and demonstrate patience, tact and understanding.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Willingness to accept direction/ delegation
Appreciation, acceptance of and commitment to importance of confidentiality
Where required, an ability to work using own initiative, while also being a team player.
Ability to work in a shared office
Flexibility to meet the needs and demands of the service
Ability to work in different offices dependent on the the service
