REHABILITATION ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN – BAND 4
Salary scale: £20,911 - £23,597
The Assistive Technology Service is looking to recruit an experienced and suitably qualified Engineering Technician for our wheelchair maintenance facility, located in Walker Place, Inverness.
The successful candidate will contribute to the repair, modification and maintenance of the full range of mobility, seating and other rehabilitation equipment issued to patients. While maintenance facility based, the successful candidate will be required to visit the patient's home, school, hospital or nursing home, therefore a current driving licence for cars and vans is required. Overnight stays will be a requirement of this post to carry out the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programme, which operates on a rotational basis, and occasionally for peripheral clinics.
A recognised mechanical or electrical engineering qualification is essential for this role. Relevant experience of light engineering on mechanical and electronic systems, preferably including an apprenticeship is required. Previous recent experience of working with patients, the NHS, and wheelchair and seating systems is desirable but not essential.
