CLINICAL SUPPORT TECHNICIAN Band 3 - £18,292 to £21,349 pro rata Plus £1,015 Distant Islands Allowance pro rata 27.5 Hours per Week Permanent Post For more information on living and working in the Western Isles visit the website: This unique post is based as Ospadal Uibhist agus Bharraigh, Balivanich, Isle of Benbecula and will give you an exciting opportunity to provide clinical support to healthcare staff at the hospital in the service areas of Ward Administration, Laboratory and Pharmacy. You will ensure the timely distribution of quality assured pharmaceuticals and related products supplied by Pharmacy, Western Isles Hospital to the ward and departments, ensuring correct storage and effective stock rotation. You will undertake duties relating to Point of Care Testing, Blood Transfusion and general laboratory tasks as directed by the Clinical Laboratory, Western Isles Hospital. You will ensure that ward patient related administrative services are effective, efficient and confidentiality is maintained. You need to have a formal qualification at SVQ level 3/HNC or equivalent portfolio of knowledge and experience in a health care setting. The successful candidates will need to achieve the Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers and comply with the Code of Conduct within six months for part time workers.
