Aberdeenshire Council are recruiting for part-time Museum Guides to work in the award-winning Aden Farming Museum in Mintlaw on a yearly basis, commencing Friday 29 March and running until Sunday 27 October 2019, and every Easter to October season thereafter.
We want four outgoing individuals with excellent communication skills and a deep interest in customer care to welcome our visitors to this fascinating museum. The ideal Museum Guide promotes and interprets the various displays, stories and objects; they help to maintain good order and encourage visitors to engage with museum activities to ensure the best experience possible. They conduct tours where required, wear heritage costumes for occasional events, oversee exhibition areas and assist with the day-to-day operation of the museum. The post also includes occasional cash handling for activities, events and a pop-up shop.
This post operates on a shift pattern of 6 days or 36 hours per week including weekends for alternate weeks, giving every other week off. The positions are part-time throughout the summer season and change during the winter months (November to March) to 0 hours as-and-when required.
The majority of posts within Aberdeenshire Council fall into one of the categories as detailed on the Worksmart website - http://worksmart.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/
