Argyll and Bute Council's Economic Development & Strategic Transportation Service is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated new team member to join the Council's Economic Growth Team. As the Economic Growth Officer you will support the service in the development, facilitation and delivery of the sustainable growth of the Argyll and Bute economy and that of its administrative areas with a particular focus on the food and drink (including the primary industries of agriculture, fishing and aquaculture) and marine sciences.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of three years' experience in one or more of the recognised economic growth sectors, e.g. food and drink. This postholder will have an understanding of the food and drink (including the primary industries of agriculture, fishing and aquaculture) and/or marine sciences in an economic growth context.
The postholder must be able to demonstrate an outgoing and professional manner, with a customer orientated approach, a positive attitude and enthusiasm for challenges, good communication skills including questioning and listening, good organisational and planning skills and attention to detail.
The successful candidate must also show a willingness to travel throughout Argyll and Bute and beyond, as appropriate.
