Senior Practitioner (PKC05155)
£36,865 - £40,300
HM Prison, 3 Edinburgh Raod, Perth

The post is based in HM Prison Perth Social Work Department. This is a small, busy team comprising qualified Social Workers and admin support. Our role is to provide a quality social work service to serving prisoners within HM Prison Perth. It is expected that the successful candidate will provide advice, guidance and support to social work staff in the management of complex cases; take responsibility for management of the unit in the absence of the team leader; mentor newly qualified or inexperienced staff through Council and prison induction processes; be responsible for high risk/ high profile cases and take a lead role in the preparation and presentation of risk and risk management plans in multi agency arenas.

Candidates should have the ability to undertake delegated tasks working autonomously. Candidates should have confidence to challenge service users, service providers and staff in order to assert social work principles and values. Candidates must have a flexible approach to sharing duties and working arrangements and must have excellent verbal and communications skills, including report writing, assessment, presentation and computer skills.
