An opportunity has arisen for a Social Care Officer within the Rapid Response Service. The Rapid Response service is a service where Health and Council work together to give individuals whose needs suddenly change immediate access to suppport which will allow them to remain in their own home. It is for older people living anywhere in Perth and Kinross. The Rapid Response Service means that unless there is a medical need for someone to go in to hospital, they can immediately be given support from a group of qualified staff who will provide assistance in the home until a longer term solution is put in place. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
You will work to a 8 week planned rota, which consists of 2 x shift patterns ie 08.00am-20.00pm and 20.00pm-08.00am. These shifts are 12hour shifts. You will be travelling across Perth and Kinross area. A clean driving licence and access to a car is essential for this post. The ideal candidate will be flexitble and willing to attend training to support with the role. This is a rewarding career for the ideal candidate. Experience in a caring role would be beneficial ie this could be personal.

We are looking for an individual who can demonstrate effective communication skills who has a caring and compassionate attitude and who can build and maintain a good rapport with the service users and their families of those in your care.
A genuine interest in the health and wellbeing of vulnerable people is essential and the important qualities are kindness, sensitivity, respectfulness, and good manners and to respect confidentiality at all times.
You will be required to register with the SSSC as a support worker in a Care at Home service within 6 months of commencing employment and responsible for maintaining annual membership. Hold an SVQ 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent or willing to work toward achieving this within an agreed timeframe. You will need to have access to a private vehicle for work purposes and fuel costs will be reimbursed as per Counci's policy
