Family Support Worker

35 hours per week
Temporary up to 31 March 2021
£19,777- £21,401 / £22,004 - £24,084 (including Distant Islands Allowance)

A vacancy exists for a family support worker in the Children & Families service within Orkney Health and Care, based at the Council Offices.

You will be providing intensive support to children and their families, maintaining children safely within their families, care placement, community, mainstream school or alternative education and work closely to support young people returning to the community from residential care out-with Orkney and will have a particular focus on Looked After Children.

To be appointed at G5

You should have a good general standard of education including literacy and numeracy AND achieve an HNC Social Care and SVQ 3 Social Services (Children and young People) within 5 years of appointment.

To be appointed at G6

You should hold an HNC Social Care and SVQ 3 Social Services (Children and young People).

This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.
