Welfare Rights Officer, Perth PKC05259
£23,707 - £26,616 Fixed Term (Until 28 February 2020)

A temporary opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual who is keen to provide comprehensive income maximisation and appeals representation service to women, pre-birth and during the during the first year of a child's life. To advise and assist women to ensure that they receive their all of their entitlements.

The role will involve carrying out outreach work at various venues throughout Perth & Kinross and will include building relationships with workers in Health to ensure that women are aware of their rights at the earliest opportunity.

We are looking for an individual who has effective communication skills to deal effectively with internal and external customers in all areas of work and the ability to demonstrate good working relationships. You will also be required to organise and plan, prioritise and schedule activities in advance and work well under pressure to deliver to deadlines.

You will be able to demonstrate:
•Experience of providing Welfare Rights advice and information or experience of maximising the incomes of vulnerable people in either a paid or voluntary capacity.
•Experience of advocating on behalf of vulnerable people.
•Have an awareness of the qualifying conditions for state benefits/ tax credits.
•Have excellent customer care skills.
•Experience and knowledge of using IT programmes and packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
