Are you looking for a challenge? Do you want to work in a busy office environment in a varied role?
The Assessment & Charging Team, based at Pullar House, Perth, has a vacancy for a permanent, full time, Finance Support Assistant. The purpose of the team is to ensure that citizens of Perth & Kinross are financially assessed and charged correctly for any social care that they receive, while maximising their income and also ensuring that the providers of that care are paid correctly and timely.
Based within the Client Funds Section of the Assessment & Charging Team, you will work closely with finance and social work colleagues, external care providers and family and friends of our clients. This is a varied role which involves working to deadlines and places competing demands on your time. The tasks of the role include:-
• Checking and payment of invoices using financial systems
• Making applications to manage vulnerable clients funds
• Monitoring and administration of clients funds
• Contacting clients to discuss non-payment of invoices
• General administrative duties
You should have a mature and proactive approach to work and the ability to communicate with a wide range of people. With a flexible attitude, you should take a pride in your work, be able to understand and apply policies and procedures and have a desire to get things done right first time. Experience of using Microsoft packages, particularly Excel, is essential and a head for figures will be an advantage.
