You are a Qualified Social Worker (DipSW or equivalent professional Social Work qualification), who has previous working knowledge of this client group and is registered with the SSSC. As well as having a working knowledge of delivering structured Programmatic work, case planning and case management you are also skilled in interviewing and assessment and have the confidence to speak in Court.
We need a team player able to cope with the stresses involved in working in a Criminal Justice Team, with the ability to work honestly and positively and in depth with service users and other agencies. Case planning and the ability to work to deadlines are essential. A sound knowledge of Social Work in the Criminal Justice system and an awareness of Health and Safety issues are desirable. Preferably you will have an understanding and a practical use of Risk Assessment tools.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
