Summary of Role and Responsibilities

·       This role is responsible for performing a range of cold water, hot water, drainage, heating and renewable energy system plumbing activities safely, effectively and efficiently, in line with technical drawings and quality checklists provided – both in the production facility and on-site;

·       This role is responsible for complying with all business process, procedure and systems, most importantly the business’s health and safety processes, procedures and systems;

·       The role is responsible for identifying and implementing processes, procedures and systems which ensure production work can be completed efficiently and effectively;

Key Activities and Tasks

·       Key plumbing tasks include the specification, fixing, fitting and assembly of plumbing parts and equipment in line with industry good practice, relevant certification schemes, building standards, technical drawings and quality checklists provided, completing tasks on programme and quality, reporting and dealing with quality issues as they arise, maintaining the site area, tooling and equipment in a tidy and orderly condition, completing various daily, weekly and monthly checks in line with the business’s health and safety systems;

Key Attributes

·       Highly motivated and enthusiasm for working as part of an effective team;

·       Ability to complete plumbing and associated works safely, effectively and efficiently;

·       Excellent knowledge of industry good practice, relevant certification schemes, building standards and other standards relevant to domestic plumbing design, specification, installation and maintenance. A good knowledge of general construction methods and materials;

·       Good organisational skills including job planning and programming, preparing and organising all tooling, equipment and materials for works;

·       A commitment to quality work, the ability to take ownership of tasks and pride in your work and the work of your colleagues;

·       Confidence to engage with internal and external parties to obtain information as required to allow the timely completion of tasks;

·       Ability to identify and implement processes, procedures and systems to improve the safety, efficiency and effectiveness of production activities;

·       Good working knowledge of basic health and safety systems in a construction environment including risk assessments and method statements, daily/weekly checks, personal protective equipment etc;

·       Enthusiasm to contribute to the development of an innovative and growing business;

Required Experience:

Extensive experience in residential housing plumbing, ideally with experience with renewable energy technologies including solar hot water, air/ground source heat pumps, MVHR, biomass, multi-fuel stoves etc;

Required Qualifications:

Apprenticeship, HND or HNC in Plumbing or equivalent. CSCS card or equivalent basic HSEQ qualifications. Highly desirable is previous or existing Gas Safe Registration and accreditation with CIPHE (Chartered Institutes of Plumbing and Heating Engineering).
