Our state-of-the-art Signalling Centres are the nerve centres for rail operations nationwide. Dedicated teams use sophisticated technology to monitor and control train movements. This is where the operation of passenger and freight services is managed. And thanks to strong leadership, it's where the very highest standards of safety and train performance come together.

Signalling is key to keeping Britain moving efficiently. And you'll be key to efficient signalling. You'll manage and coordinate the Signalling Centre and its staff, and keep traffic on the network flowing safely.

Managing the operation of the Signalling Centre and Signalling staff on a shift basis, you will take care to ensure adherence to the very highest operating standards and procedures. Directing and co-ordinating Signallers' activities, you will see that they control equipment in a safe and efficient way. They will look to you for guidance on important regulations, while other staff, train and freight operating companies, and contractors will all rely on you to provide operating and train service information.

As well as administering safety briefings, you'll personally investigate and report on any operational incidents. In the event of works on signals, you'll make sure engineering procedures are adhered to, so that trains keep running safely. Put simply, you'll be integral to train performance.

This role involves days, nights and weekend working, and is a safety critical role so subject to drug and alcohol testing and passing of the relevant medical assessment.

Grade: Signaller Grade 10' Salary '47,618
