Environmental Jobs

Today we are all so conscious of the needs to protect our planet it could be argued that everyone’s job contains some element of environmental work, be it sorting the waste into the correct recycling bin to choosing more energy efficient equipment.

Environmental jobs cover such a wide field.  From scientists doing front line research to engineers working on wind farms and other alternative energies to innovative recycling projects or energy saving programmes, the list is extensive.

Then there are all the back office jobs for the sector – office, managerial and admin staff working for companies in the private sector, the public sector, non profits, government departments and NGOs and charities.

Scotland has a magnificent natural heritage, coastline and farming community to support, but don’t just think that this work happens in the countryside; urban environment and its betterment is another massive aspect of this work.

A career in environmental employment does not always follow the degree route; think of all the electricians and engineers needed in alternative energy.

It is a good sector in which to build a career or some part of your chosen career; experience in the environmental sector can place you in the ideal position to make progress developing your working life.
